I would like start things off with just a couple of things about KaTsZoNe's website and article.
Last month's episode (May 2011), "Something Old, Something New", had a bit of a glitch. My friend told me that when she tried to open a link, she received a virus from a website. I immediately sent out emails to those on my mailing list and also put up a note on the website about it. I hope no one else received a virus on your computer. I truly apologize for that. I did visit the links myself and did not get anything, which is why I thought it was safe. I promise to be more careful about sharing links in the future since something as popular as the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton would draw lots of attention and therefore, potentially dangerous ground for innocent readers because there are those who will do no good by creating viruses on certain websites - sad to say.
Also, a couple months ago, I started a Discussion Forum and created several topics. Unfortunately, I had to take that down because I had tons of unwanted postings. Once again, I faced people who were a nuisance and up to no good! I had to manually delete dozens of postings. Without having to register and using passwords, my discussion forum was too attractive a target. So, in case you were wondering what had happened, I thought I would let everyone know. In future, if you wish to make comments about anything, please visit the Comments section at www.katszone.com/comments.html or reply to my email if you are on my mailing list. For those who are not on my mailing list and wish to be added, please either use the Comments section or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that I do not send emails from email@example.com. Also, I would prefer to add only those people I know personally to my mailing list, since the purpose of my writing KaTsZoNe is to communicate with my friends and family. If you are reading KaTsZoNe on Facebook, then you are already my family or friend, so, please feel free to email me on Facebook.
Now, for this month's episode, I wanted to pay tribute to moms! May 8th, 2011 was Mother's Day in Canada. That day, I realized once again that I have an AWESOME mother. For many years, I have written in Mother's Day cards for my mom. Before I do so, I think back about the past year and how my relationship has been with my mom. Sometimes, I think about how I have disappointed her, but, she loves me anyway. Sometimes, I argue with her and even though she is right about something, she still loves me. She doesn't hold a grudge against me. She doesn't belittle me and continually say, "I told you so." She doesn't make me feel like a failure. She is my mom and she STAYS WITH IT... she STAYS WITH LOVE. These days, mom tells me that she praises me to her friends and even strangers. To her, I am a good daughter in spite of my imperfections -- LOL. I guess she thinks I turned out to be a pretty good apple after all. I know without a doubt, my mother's love had a lot to do with my relationship with her -- her totally unconditional love.
My mom likes Nat King Cole and she's not the only one! I used to play his songs on the piano when I was a kid and loved his voice and songs which he sang. I am not familiar with the song, "Stay With Love", but, I stumbled upon this song while I was coming up with this episode of KaTsZoNe. It made me think that, it is not easy to STAY WITH IT, but, a mother's love is like no other and she will STAY WITH IT...STAY WITH LOVE. I think I have the GREATEST MOM IN THE WORLD! And, you may also think you have the greatest mom in the world. I think we should all take the time to tell our moms, while we still have the chance. Don't just wait until Mother's Day or Valentine's Day or her birthday! Sometimes, we complain that our moms forget easily. So, let's remind them! Let them know with a phone call, a note, flowers and random acts of kindness. Take her out for lunch. Spend time with your mom. Don't take her for granted.
We need to learn from our mothers how to STAY WITH IT...STAY WITH LOVE. My mom shared a lesson with me on Mother's Day this year which was based on a sermon she recently heard. The message was clear: Jesus loves us and the only way to show His love is to give our love away. It is easier said than done. I thought it was a message for parents. Then, as we talked about it, I knew that it's a message for all of us. My mom made a decision to show Jesus' love by giving her love away. I wanted to help a friend in a big way, but, without my mom's agreement, I would not be able to do so. And, when she explained the sermon she had heard and that she was going to apply what she learned, I sat in my dining room, in tears and somewhat in shock. Then, when I thought about how we were all going to cope with the situation ahead, my mom assured me that she would stick to her decision and STAY WITH IT. Like it or not, she would keep her word and STAY WITH IT, which meant STAYING WITH LOVE. It is not just about a relationship between mother and daughter. I decided that I would follow the example that Jesus had set and what my mom had set. I tried to STAY WITH IT...I STAYED WITH LOVE. (Read 1 John 4:7-21 - excerpts below)
Mothers are not the only ones who STAY WITH LOVE. Let's not forget our fathers. In Canada, Father's Day is on Sunday, June 19th, 2011. We pay tribute to our dads on the 3rd Sunday of June each year. I no longer have my dad here on earth, but, I will never forget him! Whether it is your 1st Father's Day or your 50th, on behalf of all kids, I say, "Thanks Papa/Dad/Daddy". We appreciate how you also STAY WITH IT...STAY WITH (UNCONDITIONAL) LOVE. We thank you!
Thanks for joining me for this episode of KaTsZoNe. I am grateful that you have stayed with me not only as loyal readers, but, as true friends!
Have a great summer. Catch you next month!

1 John 4:7-21 (God's Love and Ours)(From the New International Version Bible)
"...let us love one another, for love comes from God." (verse 7)
"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins...since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another" (verses 10-11)
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." (verse 18)
"If anyone says, 'I love God,' yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother." (verses 20-21)
