Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to the 72nd episode of KaTsZoNe and the beginning of a new decade!
At the threshold of 2011, I am trying to be optimistic, hoping that the hard times in the past will prepare me for anything in the future, hoping that I will be in better health than in the past, hoping that I will be loved and to loved more, wanting to lose a few pounds, dreaming that my bank account/investments will grow rather than diminish, desiring to have more meaningful work/career -- and then, I realize, am I so different from everyone else?
What do I want to do with my life? Where do I want to be next year? What about my long term dreams and goals? At the start of each new year, I ponder and wonder, and then ask myself, why bother having dreams and goals? New Year's resolutions become history within a month anyway.
One thing I do know is, for starters, I wanted to get January's KaTsZoNe out to you. So, writing KaTsZoNe is still my priority. Next thing, well, I think I want to change my ringtone -- lol. Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" is getting old. Wonder if Ke$ha's "The Harold Song" would be a good ringtone - I'm really hooked on that song now!
One of the things that keep humans human is having hopes and dreams. If we lose hope and not have dreams, we wither a lot faster than the rest -- in my opinion. We need to keep going by hoping and dreaming, no matter what it might be. For myself, what keeps me going is new experiences and adventures. Since high school and my early 20s, I wanted to write. At first, it was short stories. But, I thought that in order to write interesting stories, I would have to gain different experiences in life, otherwise, I'd write pretty boring stories! And then, I wanted to writing inspiring non-fiction. Then, in December 2004, I started writing KaTsZoNe newsletters, which was a vehicle to inspire, encourage and inform! I fed readers with lots of stuff -- fun, informative, and always honest. But, imagine if I just went to work and came home to sleep and told you that in each episode. Would you still be reading KaTsZoNe today?
At the beginning of 2011, I want to thank you once again for all the feedback you have given me in the past several years. I appreciate your comments and especially appreciate you being with me and understanding the road I am on. Many times, some of you are walking down a similar road as me. We have shared similar experiences and find comfort that someone else knows and understands. I believe that if we can help others based on our own experiences, that it is as valuable or more valuable than giving money. Don't get me wrong, money is a good gift -- if it can help others. I still aspire to be a philanthropist when I grow up. I am stil working at it -- at being a philanthropist and at growing up!
After several holiday parties, shopping and wrapping Christmas gifts, getting together with friends, getting really sick just before the holidays, all in December, all I can say is, I can't wait to get back to work in January so I can recover from exhaustion! I go through this every year, but, I still enjoy it all (except getting sick)! Hope all of you have also enjoyed the holiday season with family and friends.
In January, I am looking forward to the North American International Motorcycle Supershow which I have attended with Larry for the past 3 years. I have also added the Canadian Auto Show (in February), the PDAC Conference and Trade Show (in March), and Canadian Music Week (in March) to my calendar on my website at http://www.katszone.com/page/page/6673173.htm so be sure to check it from time to time. I will be adding more events as the year progresses. If you have similar interests, let me know and perhaps I can meet up with you at an event!
February 3rd is Chinese New Year - the Year of the Metal Rabbit. I will create a new section called "Year of the Rabbit" which will reveal characteristics of a Rabbit and bring you some predictions for the new year!
If you have some new year's resolutions to share, feel free to reply to this email or to post your comments on my website at http://www.katszone.com/comments.html.
I wish you and yours good health, happiness and prosperity. All the best in 2011!
