Welcome to the 100th episode of KaTsZoNe! WOOHOO!!!
Not sure if you're as excited as I am, but, as I think back to the first issue of KaTsZoNe back in December, 2004, I never thought I would last this long! It has not quite been 10 years yet, but, it seems like I've ran a long race and have finally reached the 100th issue. I should've reached it last month except one year, I forgot to write a September issue. Perhaps, I'm the only one who kept track of that! I am happy to say that KaTsZoNe continues on. I've said before, I am still having fun and as long as that's the case, I will keep up my monthly blogs also known as "episodes" of my life.
I have not received emails from anyone regarding your favourite past episode(s). That's okay, I won't cry in my bowl of soup. I am assuming that there's just too many to name. However, I have received comments quite regularly from many of you. I really appreciate your comments and feedback. I'm pleased that my blogs have effected you in some way - made you laugh, made you cry, made you think, made you say "ahem", made you say "I don't get it". Yes, admit it, sometimes, you might think I've gone a bit too far or not far enough on a particular topic. All I can say is, I've tried to be genuine and honest, but, also be respectful.
I chose the title of this month's episode, "Oh, The Places I'll Go!", based on a Dr. Seuss book called, "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" It is such a wonderful, inspiring book which encourages the reader to dream, to reach, to go places. In whatever you are aiming for, Dr. Seuss says you will succeed, it's 98 and 3/4 per cent guaranteed! If you access youtube videos, you can listen to "Oh, The Places You'll Go" at www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQRWeZy-S8Q which I think you will enjoy!
So, as crazy as it may seem, I resigned from my job at the Ontario Public Service. I had thought about it for some time but, just last week, I decided that the time has come. I've stopped having fun, so, it is time to do something different. A number of people have helped me consider this decision over the course of weeks, months and the past year. I am grateful for their advice and assistance. I know that change was not easy for all these people who also gave up their jobs when they realized that there was something better for them. They had a calling which they had to follow. If they did not realize that call on their lives, they would still be roaming around in the desert.
I have brains in my head. I have feet in my shoes. I can steer myself any direction I choose.
(Inspired by Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go! - "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.")
There are places I need to go. Places near and far, you know. I look to the left, and to the right and see. My happiness and success depends on being me. (That's my attempt to imitate Dr. Seuss.)
I am not saying that I'll be attempting to write children's books after this -- LOL. I just hope that in this short, yet important episode of KaTsZoNe, the message is not about me. I am hoping that this is for everyone who may be afraid to take risks in order to use their gifts and talents as it was intended by their Creator.
What about salary, what about benefits, and pension plans, you say? Well, what about happiness, what about passion, what about peace you can have today...tomorrow...everyday!
Thanks so much for hanging out with me this month! Hope you will join me again next month, and let me tell you, I really look forward to June and SUMMER!!! HOORAY!!!
