1 May 2006

Spring is here and summer is around the corner.  In the past, I might highlight or colour my hair just because it was spring and I felt like a change!  It's exciting to think about warmer weather, travelling and even summer romances {sigh}.

Changes are a part of life.  It seems that a number of people I know are getting married or are having babies this year.  Wow!  There will definitely be lots of changes in the lives of my friends and family.  I also know a number of people who have obtained or are looking for new jobs/careers this year.

Changes can also be stressful.

Changing your diet or exercise regime can be difficult.  Cutting out bad habits is also tough.  But, remember, if you're doing something to improve your life, it is well worth it.  I'm still trying to stay on track, and I have seen great results with the improvement of my psoriasis.  It is costly and it's not easy giving up my favourite foods, and sometimes, I'm just too lazy to exercise.  Hey, tough it out and just keep going...speaking of which, I'm now 4118 km on my virtual trek across Canada (where I started from Newfoundland), and I'm now headed from Toronto to Hamilton (http://www.c2cfitcanada.com/).

Think about the rewards when you attempt to change yourself, instead of other people.  If you are doing something to improve your health, you will not only live longer, you will ensure that your loved ones will have you around longer!  If you learn to save more money for your family, your children will not be burdened with your debts.  If you wipe the scowl from your face, you might make more friends.  If you stop eating green cheese -- oh gosh....please don't even start!

So, since I am thinking about changes, I think I need to get more sleep for starters (lots of room for improvement here).   After that, I'm just going to find my destiny!

Take care and we'll catch up next month.
