KaTsZoNe Newsletters > KaTsZoNe - Issue 22 - Where Did September Go?

1 Oct 2006

In case you didn't notice, I did not send out the September issue of KaTsZoNe.  Hey, by the time I realized it, it was September 7th or 8th already.  So, no, I did not forget you, my friends!

So, now, literally, "Where did September go?"  But, not only that, where did the whole summer go?  Does everyone feel like I do - how time passes so quickly?  Whoa!  Sometimes, I wonder if I've fallen into a time tunnel and it turns out that one second is equal to four months.

Anyway, I did a lot of fun stuff and I am looking forward to more fun things to do.  I've been doing lots of creative writing (been working on the longest story I've ever written, since August 22nd and I'm still editing it).  I'm trying to get back into songwriting again.  In the old days, I had to tape my music on a tape recorder and write out the chords.  Well, I'm looking into songwriting software, keyboard, etc. - so that I can eventually have it downloaded on an MP3 player, put up on a website, etc.   I'm not even sure what I'm going to need, so, I'm planning to go to the Toronto Music Expo to see if I can get some HELP!

I now have another new website at http://www.myspace.com/katszone which is mainly for my music interests.  I'm trying to connect with songwriters/musicians from all over the world.  It's very cool!  These songwriters/artists send out notifications, and if I happen to like their music, I add them as "Friends".  I can also browse and search for bands too.  In fact, I've also added two producers to my list of "Friends".  So, if you come by my website at myspace.com, you can click on the pics which will take you to that artist's website and sample their songs.  I've been quite busy with that, but, it's lots of fun!  I would love to listen to and sing the praises of more Canadian artists - unfortunately, none have come knocking yet.  I do know of two Canadian songwriters/artists already, Monique Barry and Nelly Shin -- so, please do check them out.  Monique and Nelly will be releasing new CDs soon -- so, I'll be looking forward to that.  I would love to collaborate with a songwriter again like I did years ago.  So, I'll see how that goes.  Meanwhile, I think I'll have to get some songwriting tools first.  And, I appreciate those of you who have given me some advice on that.

For several of you, I'm sorry we did not have a chance to meet up at all or meet up more often these past few months.  In spite of that, thanks for keeping in touch with me, with all your e-mails through jokes, articles, and just checking up on me, making sure that I was still alive and breathing!   Or maybe...breathing hard...yes, I'm still doing Turbo Jam!  One friend suggested that I take up a sword and incorporate sword drills into my workout.  "Heads will roll" takes on a new meaning for me.  Still can't believe that I actually learned sword drills.  However, I do not have swords in my possession at this time, so, no need to ask me.  I did not incorporate them into my workout, but, it was lots of fun. Intead of a workout, I learned "Umbrella Defence", and learned the sword drills in the process,  so, watch out people, I may be lethal with an umbrella.  Well, I'm lethal with an umbrella anyway because if you've ever noticed, I have not used an umbrella in years and usually have a hooded jacket on rainy days -- in other words, there better be a first aid kit around if I'm going to be using an umbrella!

Alright, enough of my rambling.  Guess I'm making up for September.

Have a wonderful October.  I'm not back at work yet so I'll keep you all posted.
